Feelings, Lord, 

They lie a lot-

Pulling, tugging, nagging!

Oh, truly, feelings lie a lot!

I look into Your Word and see

Amazing Grace, 

Christ's Victory!

I read about Your love for me,

The Blessing, 

Jesus got for me!

I gather up sweet promises,

I smell them, like a flower!

I taste Your Word -

Devour!

I start to feel so very good,

This feeling, I can trust-

For it comes from Your Word!!!

Oh, yes, beloved,

My own child,

Feelings can be deceiving!

How very, very wise-

To check, what you're believing!

To understand is joy, indeed,

The Truth, not feelings,

You've been freed!!!
